Lillian A. Housenick, 68, of Wilkes-Barre, died Tuesday morning at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre, May 15, 1937, a daughter of the late Sheldon and Ada (Schooley) Housenick.

She attended GAR Memorial High School.

Lillian was a founding member and past president of the O’Karma Terrace Crime Watch Tenants Association, and founding member of the John B. McGlynn Learning Center Wilkes-Barre.

She held many fund-raisers to benefit low-income families.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Housenick Delaney.
She is survived by sons Walter and Joseph Housenick, of Wilkes-Barre; son John Housenick and wife Teresa, Minnesota; daughter Deborah Housenick, Wilkes-Barre; daughter Patricia Hughes and her husband, Ralph, Wilkes-Barre; grandsons Ralph and Ian Hughes, Dylan, Tyler, and Joshua Housenick; granddaughters Felecia, Shannon, Alexandria, and Ashley Housenick; great-grandson Jakob Isaac Housenick.

Lillian will be sadly missed by her friends and family.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the Frederick and Snowdon Funeral Home, 617 Carey Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. from St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Church, South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre, with Monsignor Thomas V. Banick officiating.

Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Friends may call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
