Donavon was born on August 20, 1951, in Portage. He married his wife on April 3, 1976 in Racine.
Donavon drove truck for 35 years but his real love was farming. He had been active in 4-H as a child. He was an active member of the Portage Seventh Day Adventist Church for over 50 years. Many people knew him for his love of horses as well as farming.
He is survived by his father, wife, children, grandchildren, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marvel Melvin.
Funeral services will be held at Portage Seventh Day Adventist Church on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Christian Ronalds officiating. Burial will follow at Cole Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
