Emaline J.Miller, was born in Indiana on Sept. 20, 1872, being the daughter of Martin Vanburen Miller and Louisa Jane Hinman. In the middle 1870's, her father migrated in a covered wagon to Texas and settled in Bell Co., TX.

Emma met and married her first husband C. C. Dameron on Aug. 15, 1889 in Bell Co., TX and this is where her son,William Martin Dameron, was born.

Sometime between 1892 and 1893, her father, Martin, moved his family to Dallas, TX and Emma moved along with the rest of the family. Not certain if break up of her marriage happened in Bell Co. or after Emma moved to Dallas. Emaline married Jacob L Criggar on Feb. 14, 1897 in Dallas Co., TX. Into this marriage, Emma gave birth to Ollie Ether, Earl Henry, Clara Mae and Preistley.

After the death of youngest child, Preistley on April 13, 1919, four days later her husband, Jacob, took some unknown poison taking his own life.

Family believed that Emma had a heart attack just before she got to the street car line on the way to work. Emma died at Baylor Hospital in Dallas and is buried in an unmarked grave at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas.
