My beloved father.

In Hungary, where he was born in the village of Csepreg, his name was David Imre (Hungarians put the last name first.) His first name was shown as Emmerich on the passenger manifest of the ship that brought the family to America, and finally translated as Henry when the family went through Ellis Island.

His parents were David and Valaria, his siblings were Alvin, Latzy, Joe, Alex, Benny, and Edith.

He was a kind, faithful, and loving husband and father. Sadly, his first wife was not kind, faithful, nor loving in return. I have no doubt but that her evil behaviors towards him and their children shortened his life. By the grace of heaven his second wife was a decent human being. He worked hard to provide for his family. He loved science-fiction, Mallomars, Classical music, the Yankees, French coffee, dogs, and gentle humor. He excelled at bowling and tobogganing, and played a mean harmonica. He was charming and endearing, and just radiated goodness.

He was spiritually enlightened and sparkled with light from within. He was a gentleman, a mentor and role model, and an inspiration. He had wisdom beyond his years, and shared it generously.

Though his life was too short, his presence on the planet made it a better place.

May he rest in peace.

How long until the jagged edges of grief are softened? Smoothed by tears, by time, by faith which was your gift, by the shocking revelation that we'll have all Eternity together.

And my profound thanks to Zina Bee for sponsoring this Memorial.
