Both William and Nellie Tayloe Ross were governors of Wyoming. Thelma and James Ambrose had one son, William Ambrose Ross, born in 1928. James Ambrose was killed in an automobile accident 28 December 1928.
Thelma married second, Thomas Knittle Wintersteen in about 1933. They had one son, Thomas B. Wintersteen.
