LAMERLE INGRAM PUTNAM
19 Jan 1932 – 8 Aug 2016

Lamerle "Coco" Ingram Putnam, 84, passed away on Monday, 8 Aug 2016.

Mrs. Putnam was born on 19 Jan 1932 in Langdale, AL, daughter of the late George Ingram and Minnie Lee Wood.

Mrs. Putnam was a proud Army wife, loving mother and grandmother. She was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and a longtime active member of Jonesboro First United Methodist Church, where she taught children's Sunday School and was a member of the United Methodist Women's Group. She also was a member of the Gold Star's Wives, a Brownie Leader and a Softball Coach. Her true passion in life was being a hostess and she spent most of her spare time entertaining guests in her home. She was an extraordinary cook and her recipes for red velvet cake, gingersnap cookies, banana bread and Brunswick stew were sought after by many and will forever remain a secret but to a chosen few. She was a true southern lady with impeccable style. She is already missed and will always be remembered for her servant like attitude towards everyone she knew.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl M. Putnam; brother, Lamar Hamrick.

Survivors include her daughters, Penny (Ross) Collins and Carla (Alva) Roberts; grandchildren, Cally Roberts, Emma Collins and Avery (Miles) Kendall; very special dog, Daisy.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m Thursday, 11 Aug 2016 at Jonesboro First United Methodist Church with Dr. George R. Freeman, Jr. officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Huguley, AL.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family for one hour prior to service time at the church.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be sent to Jonesboro First United Methodist Church, 142 S Main St, Jonesboro, GA 30236 or Etowah Valley Humane Society, 36 Ladds Mountain Rd.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Dr., Cartersville, GA 30120 has charge of the arrangements.
