Mrs. Emily Ives Reeder, 76, for more than half a century an honored and respected resident of Big Flats, died Sunday at the family home following an extended illness. Mrs. Reeder was born in Litchfield, Conn., Jan. 11, 1858, the daughter of pioneer residents, Hubert and Ellen Beach Ives. She was united in marriage Dec. 5, 1877, in Owego to Thompson P. Reeder. Mrs. Reeder is survived by her husband, Thompson P. Reeder; three daughters, Mrs. John W. Dady, of Riverside, Calif.; Mrs. Charles E. Snyder, of Davenport, Iowa, and Miss Julia E. Reeder, of Huntington, L. I.; two brothers, Frederic E. Ives, of Philadelphia, and Franklin J. Ives, of Oneonta; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. The funrel was held at the family home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Burial was in the Big Flats Cemetery.
