She attended Moscow schools, graduating from Moscow High School in 1956. She attended Kinman Business College in Spokane and returned to Moscow and worked as a secretary for the Moscow Chamber of Commerce.
Donna Mae was married to Glen R. Wallen at the First Presbyterian Church in Moscow on Sept. 8, 1956.
They made their home in Moscow, where Donna Mae continued with the chamber. She was a homemaker when her children were growing up and an active 4-H leader for many years. She later worked as a clerk at the Hallmark Store in the Palouse Mall during the 1980s. She also enjoyed camping and picking huckleberries, reading, sewing and her flower gardens.
Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Donna Mae enrolled at the University of Idaho and graduated with a bachelor of arts in psychology in 1996. In 2002 she obtained her bachelor of science degree in child development and family relations with honors. She was very proud to be an "older graduate."

In addition to her parents, Donna Mae was preceded in death by a son, Wesley, in 2014; a grandson,
Adam Glen Roy, in 1978; and a brother, Ron Morton, in 2008.
