HUGHES SPRINGS - Funeral services for C. E. Watson, former mayor of Hughes Springs, are set for 11 a.m. Thursday from Reeder-Davis Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. John Wheeler will officiate, with burial to be in Hughes Springs Cemetery.
Watson, 83, died Tuesday in a Linden hospital. He had been a partner in Reeder-Watson General Mercantile Co. for more than 50 years and had been associated with Reeder-Watson-Davis Funeral Home and Insurance Co. He was a former chairman of the Hughes Springs Cemetery Committee, a steward and trustee of First Methodist church and a member of the Lions Club and Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna Watson of Hughes Springs; son, Charles A. Watson of Fort Worth; sister, Mrs. C. H. Callaway of Hughes Springs; and three grandchildren.
