John Edward Kirkbride was born on December 2nd, 1920 and died on November 20th, 1999 at the age of 78. John was buried at Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was a veteran of the US Navy, World War II.

KIRKBRIDE John E. (Jack), 78, died November 20, 1999. He was born on December 2, 1920 in Tulsa, OK and was a graduate of Central High School. He attended Tulsa University and the Graduate School of Banking at S.M.U., graduating with honors and serving the University as a Thesis Advisor for a number of years. Decorated for bravery during his WWII service, Jack was one of the first "frogmen" which was the Underwater Demolition Team III. He enjoyed many happy reunions with his U.D.T. 3/Seals buddies after the war. Jack was very active in the Tulsa banking community for 45 years. He worked with National Bank of Tulsa and Brookside State Bank. After retiring in 1984 Jack enjoyed traveling and volunteering for various community organizations. He was preceded in death by: his first wife, Mary Clark Kirkbride; son, John Kirkbride, Jr.; parents, Agatha and Joseph Kirkbride; sisters, Dr. Elizabeth Kirkbride-Gay, Helen Kirkbride-Canfield; brother, Robert Kirkbride. Survivors are wife, Dorothy (Pat) Tharp Kirkbride; son, James P. Kirkbride, Tulsa, OK; daughters, Charlotte Redfearn, Tulsa, OK and Mary R. "Genie" Opall, Porum, OK; step-son, David J. Tharp, Tahlequah, OK; step-daughters, Connie Sue Tharp-Taylor, Canadian, TX, Mary Lou Tharp-Capps and Linda Tharp-Felts, both of Tahlequah, OK; brother, William P. Kirkbride, Tulsa, OK; 19 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday at Calvary Cemetery Chapel. The Fitzgerald Ivy Chapel,
