Edward Joseph Azevedo, 82, of Biggs died March 11, 2002, at Enloe Hospital in Chico. Born in Gridley, he was a longtime Mid-Valley resident. He was a dairyman for more than 50 years, joined the U.S. Army in 1942, receiving the Purple Heart and the Silver Star, and was a member of the Luso-American Society, IDES Portugese Lodge, the Gridley Moose Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Gridley.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, two daughters, five sisters, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Noble and Eleanor Carlquist.
Services: Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Sorensen's Gridley Mortuary. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery.
