He was a United States Air Force veteran and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He was retired from Cummins. He graduated from Brownstown Central High School and attended Purdue University.
Carl loved animals, especially chickens and sheep. He was the 14th person to be inducted into the Poultry Hall of Fame and was known world-wide as Mr. Barred Rock. He was a Master Breeder and Master Exhibitor of Barred Plymouth Rock chickens, as well as other breeds. Carl also enjoyed breeding and raising registered Jacob sheep and fishing.
Mr. Fosbrink was born Jan. 5, 1947, in Seymour to Alvin (deceased) and Ruby Fee Fosbrink (survives in Brownstown).
Survivors include his mother; three children, Julie A. Miller of Georgia, Eric V. (Leigh) Fosbrink of Trafalgar and Truda L. (Sean) Hartmann of Evansville; two grandchildren, Karmen and Brooke Fosbrink both of Trafalgar; a brother, Jerry (Janet) Fosbrink of Columbus; and a good friend and caregiver, Victor Aquino-Ramirez and family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Alvin Fosbrink; and a nephew, Jay Fosbrink.
Graveside Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown and all family and friends are invited to attend. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Carl is also remembered as a member of JSBA (Jacob Sheep Breeders Association). Carl raised Jacob Sheep for many years. His Prefix Flock Name was "4 Horn Farm's"... His legacy in raising Jacobs can be found in various pedigrees in different parts of America.
