Cecil Wayne Wilson, 77, of Greenville, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at his residence. Visitation Services will be Thursday, October 29, 2015, at 6:00 P.M. at Ruegg Funeral Home in Greenville, MO. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 30, 2015, at 1:00 P.M. also at the Greenville Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenville Cemetery. He was born February 15, 1937 at St. Louis, MO to Clarence Wilson and Bessie Moore. He spent his childhood at Greenville, MO and at fourteen, he moved to St. Louis for work.
On March 26, 1960 Cecil married Linda Franklin, and to this union three children were born; Brian Wilson of Barnhart, MO, Victoria, and her husband Earl Meyers of Edwardsville, IL, and Karen, and her husband Jamie Jones of Havelock, NC. Other survivors include, six grandchildren, Hailee Meyers, Brianne Wilson, Genna Barnes, Christopher Jones, Jordan Meyers, Alexis James; five great grandchildren, Cody Jones, Bailey Jones, Landon Barnes, Morgan James, and Graysen James; one brother, Clarence “Bud” Wilson of Lemay, MO; two sisters, Mary Bazzell of St. Charles, MO, and Beverly and her husband David Richman of Springfield, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin great grandchildren Amelia and Chauncey Barnes; three brothers, Francis “Hank” Wilson, Herbert Daniel Wilson, and Russell Wilson; and three sisters, Delores Ragan, Marie Maloney, and Sylvia Martin.
Cecil worked as a painter for American Car Foundry in St. Louis, MO, a driver for Cherokee Candy and Tobacco Co., a driver for Holkamp Lumber Co., in Kirkwood, MO and finally as an over the road flatbed truck driver. He moved back to Greenville in 1989 and was an active member of Kime General Baptist Church. He loved to hunt, fish, and garden in his spare time.
Visitation was held Thursday, October 29, 2015, at 6:00 P.M. at Ruegg Funeral Home in Greenville, MO. Funeral Services were held Friday, October 30, 2015, at 1:00 P.M. also at the Greenville Chapel. Burial followed at Greenville Cemetery. Pastor Kenny Burchard ministered to the family along with Pastor Leslie Burchard. The Richmond Quartet provided musical selections. Son Brian provided a loving tribute to his father. Chris Jones, Jordan Meyers, Chauncey Barnes, Rodney White, Derrick White, and John Fox served as Pallbearers. Cecil White and Danny Conway served as honorary pallbearers
