Clemens Moffett, 30 years old, a son of the late Samuel Moffett, Writer, and a grandnephew of Mark Twain, dropped dead Friday Evening of heart Disease while walking with a fried at St. George, S.I. He was in the advertising business and also wrote short stories. He was a graduate of the University of California and had also received the degree of M.A. from Columbia. He was a Lieutenant in the Signal Corps in the World War and afterward was a Reserve Captain in the 533rd Artillery. He belonged to the Players, Veteran Corps of Artillery, Military Society of the War of 1812 Society of Military and Naval Officers of the World War. His mother survives. Services will be held at 4 O'clock tomarrow afternoon in the Church of the Transfiguration, 1, East Twenty-ninth street.(New York Times March 6, 1927)
