MY MATERNAL GRANDFATHER
My maternal grandfather John Anthony Betz was born on November 17, 1883, in Baltimore, Maryland, the child of George W Betz and Hannah E. Betz.
He had three children with (his first wife) Mary (Trautner) Betz: George W. Betz, Herman John Betz Sr and Dorothy E Betz.
Then after his first wife Mary passed away, John remarried Hazel Alverta (Vain) Betz and together they had three children: Elaine Margaret Betz (my mother), Hazel Betz, John Anthony "Butch/Tony" Betz Jr.
John and his second wife Hazel Alverta Vain divorced after Hazel met and dated Jimmy Anti, a Merchant Marine.
John Anthony Betz Sr passed away on November 20, 1951, in his hometown of Baltimore Maryland at the age of 68.
