Survived by two sons Patrick (Dena) and John (Marge) Flahive; grandchildren Patrick Jr., Sean (Lynn), John III (Tammy) and Scott Flahive; three great grandchildren Nicholas and Anthony Flahive and Heather Flahive.
Preceded in death by his wife Cecilia (Krall) Flahive; son Michael Flahive and parents John and Mary (McCaffery) Flahive.
Born in Manilla, Iowa, Joliet resident since 1942. Retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after 36 years of service. Member of the Cathedral of St. Raymond's. John was a certified watch maker, and was a great history buff. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan and enjoyed Big Band Music.
Funeral Services for John J. Flahive Sr. will be held, Friday April 4, 2008 at 11:30 a.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday morning 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 11:30. Memorial to Vista Hospice would be appreciated.
