Signed by the Cubs as an amateur free agent in 1954, he marked his Major League debut on July 31, 1957 and pitched in eight games that year. He produced a career-high twelve wins in 1959. In 246 regular season games, he compiled a 36 win, 46 loss record with a 4.26 lifetime ERA in 840 innings-pitched. After retiring from baseball, he worked as a steel salesman.
