A sweet, shy, innocent, caring young woman. In spite of a hard knock childhood, she possesed a fighting spirit and unwavering determination to make her life's path straight. Linda looked to the future filled with promise and hope. She loved children (especially her step-sister and two half-brothers), working with the elderly and writing poetry. Often Linda would write poem after poem about her late mother who died of cancer while she was a young child. After being shuttled to and from foster homes in Illinois, Linda found her way to her father and stepmother's home in Santa Ana, California. After graduating from Santa Ana High School, she landed a job as a Nurse's Aide in the convalescent wing at Doctors Hospital in Santa Ana. Just as life was finally turning around for her, she was found hanging by a rope in her apartment on January 24, 1974. The coroner ruled it a suicide. The cause of death since then has been changed to "homicide" in 2021. Cold case investigators uncovered new evidence that led to the arrest of her former landlord and co-worker at Doctors Hospital, David Louis Stanley (aka Louis Wiechecki) on November 17, 2005 and charged him with Linda's murder.
Murder charges against Wiechecki were thrown out on 10/10/09. Orange County Superior Court cited loss of evidence and witnesses, circumstances which would have impeded Wiechecki's right to a fair trial. Orange County Prosecuters' Office decided not to appeal. Wiechecki died in 2017.

CAUSE OF DEATH - Murder/Rape victim. Strangled.
