Mrs. FW Mercer Dead Well Known Seattle Woman Succumbs After Operation
Mrs. Esther M. Mercer, wife of Frederick W. Mercer, president and treasurer of the Mercer Cycle Company, died yesterday morning at Minor Hospital after an operation Friday night. Mrs. Mercer, who was a popular young matron of Seattle, with a wide circle of friends, had been in poor health for some time, but not critical until Friday, when it was decided an operation was necessary. Mrs. Mercer was born in Louisville, KY, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.J. Wiggins. She came to Seattle with her parents in 1903 and attended the Summit and Broadway schools. She married Mr. Mercer in 1912. A son, Billy, survives her, also her parents and a sister, Miss Martha and a brother Theodore H. Wiggins.
