Bruce Garver, the manager of this Memorial and author of Eliza Jane (Stephenson) Garver's "bio", is a great-great great-grandson of Jacob Garver (April 5, 1795, to, February 26, 1868) who is a brother to Leonard J. Garver (1788-1875), the father of Colonel William Garver whose first wife was Eliza Jane (Stephenson) Garver (1826-1850). Bruce composed the following "bio" of Eliza Jane (Stephenson) Garver during December 2021.

Eliza Jane Stephenson was born on August 9, 1826, in Noblesville, seat of Hamilton County, Indiana, to Kentucky-born General John Doyle Stephenson (1802-1876) and Lovina [Ross] Stephenson (1811-1898). Of their fourteen children, Eliza Jane was the eldest. The FAG Memorials of her thirteen siblings appear immediately below and are linked to hers and to those of their parents.

On September 1, 1842, at Noblesville, Indiana, Eliza Jane Stephenson wed William Garver (1816-1895), the fifth-born of the eight children of Leonard J. Garver (1788-1875) and Catherine Ann (Fisher) Garver (1788-1869).

Eliza Jane Stephenson and William Garver raised two sons, Julius Garver (1847–1850) and John Stephenson Garver (April 13, 1849, to March 31, 1850), died at Noblesville, Indian, during the cholera epidemic of 1850. John died on March 31, 1850, fourteen days before his first birthday. Brother Julius died during early August 1850 within a few days of his and John's mother, Eliza Jane (Stephenson) Garver, on August 5, 1850. She and her and William's two sons were interred in adjoining graves at Riverside Cemetery at Noblesville, Indiana. Colonel William Garver's body would be laid to rest beside them a few days after his death on June 14, 1895, at the age of seventy-eight.
