NORA LEE (SYPOLT) ARNSPARGER, 86, of Hagerstown, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Julia Manor Health Care Center. Born December 18, 1927 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late James Albert, Sr. and Mary Ellen (Johnson) Sypolt.
Nora was a 1945 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
She retired after 31 1/2 years as a bookkeeper at the Grand Union Supermarket. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for over 50 years, joining in 1946, where she was involved in the ladies willing workers class. Nora was also a member of the BPO Elks #378; American Legion Post No. 211 and the Improved Order of Redmen of Williamsport.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Edward Rollie Arnsparger, Sr., who died November 12, 2000; and her brother, James Albert Sypolt, Jr. and his wife, Frances Irene Sypolt.
Nora is survived by a daughter, Linda Lucretia Gause Brown of Hagerstown; a son, Edward Rollie Arnsparger, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a granddaughter, Rebecca Lee Ellen Gause of Hagerstown; and her furry companion, Holly.
A funeral service was held at the Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown; interment followed in Rest Haven Cemetery.
