Richard Alan Somers, age 52, passed away October 25, 1994, in Salt Lake City, after his long battle with cancer.
Born June 12, 1942 in Long Beach, California, to Milton R. Somers and Helen Noel Somers.
He is survived by his parents; his loving wife of 27 years, Carol Brown Somers; his daughter, Julie Somers Reid and her fiance, Daryl D. Wright; his daughter, Kimberly Somers Popish and her husband, Robert John Popish Jr.; his grandchildren, Tyler Richard and Ryan Thomas Reid, and Alyssa Nicole Popish; his brothers and sisters: Steve Somers, Mick (Diane) Somers, Susan (Ray) Hare, Michele (Martin) MacNeill, Terry (Don) Pearson, Linda (Erik) Kallstrom; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rick's love for his career, a dedicated member of the Salt Lake County Sheriff's department for 28 years, was superceded only by the love for his family. Rick has touched many lives and his memory will live forever.
A viewing will be held SUNDAY afternoon, October 30th, from 4-6 p.m., at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 South 1700 East, in Sandy. Funeral Services will be held on TUESDAY, November 1, 1994, at 2 p.m. in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Chapel, and friends may call the hour prior to the services. Interment will follow at Sunset Gardens.
