Jim McKennon died Tuesday, May 21, 2002 in Berkeley. He was 88. Born in Texas, he had spent the last 44 years in Orinda and previously lived in Walnut Creek. He was a long-time member of St. Mark's United methodist Church in Orinda. He was the owner and operator of McKennon Orthopedics for over 12 years until his retirement in 1995.

Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years Docia McKennon; stepson, Niles B. Searls of Fremont; brother, Loren McKennon of Savage, MN, and two grandchildren.

A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, June 8, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Orinda. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 451 Moraga Way, Orinda, CA 94563 are preferred.
