News came on Monday of the death in action on July 17th of Owen B Lamott of the 103rd Infantry, which has a long list of casualties. >The Plymouth Record, August 10, 1918.

The memorial meeting in honor of Owen B Lamott, held at the Tabernacle at Rumney Depot on Sunday afternoon was largely attended. Addresses were made by Reverend W Ruiter, Reverend W E Baker of the Baptist church, and Reverend J Wright, pastor of the Tabernacle. The following laymen each spoke briefly, G Loveland, Daniel Kidder and George Bickford. A composite choir sang religious hymns and patriotic songs.

Two letters of the deceased soldier written at the front, one to his brother and one to his wife were read by Elwin Wright and affected many of the congregation to tears.

Lamott's wife, father and brother were in attendance, also Mrs Charles D Spaulding, whose son, Fred Bickford was with Lamott when he was killed, and who was wounded the following day. >The Plymouth Record, August 17, 1918.

There will be a union service in the Tabernacle of the First Fruit Harvesters in memoriam of Owen B Lamott to be held at three o'clock next Sunday. Mr Baker and Mr Rinter of the Methodist church will assist Mr Wright at the service. Owen Lamott was the first Rumney boy to make the "supreme sacrifice," and we should all take part in the Memorial service.
