LAPORTE -- Services for Virginia M. Green, 77, of Cambridge Square Apartments, who died at 4:05 a.m. Thursday in LaPorte Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. CST Saturday at Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet Chapel. Burial will be in Fancher Cemetery, Hamlet. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Green was born Aug. 22, 1908, in Chicago. She moved to LaPorte 40 years ago from Hamlet. On Feb. 20, 1934, she married John C. Green, who died May 23, 1983. Surviving are seven sisters, Helen Kessler and Mary Weidner, both of LaPorte, Sally Anderson and Martha Small, both of Knox, Clara Denst of Chicago Heights, Ill., Jean Swanson of LaCrosse and Delores Webb of Lansing, Ill.; and three brothers, Chester and John Jernas, both of Knox, and Stanley Jernas of Wanatah. She was retired from Plimpton Press.
