Álvaro was also well-known for their romantic relationships with famous as the Infanta Cristina, Paloma Lago, Ivonne Reyes, Esther Cañadas, Raquel Revuelta, among others, that the media attributed him. He and two companions became the first people to parachute onto Antarctica from an altitude of 9,836 ft. in 2007, and also swam between sharks and raced the Dakar Rally. He was son of Francisco "Paco" Bultó, founder and owner of the Montesa and Bultaco motorbike companies. He died in a wingfly accident over the Swiss Alps.
