Jacob Bost, pioneer resident of this district, died Tuesday afternoon after a lingering illness. He was born and reared in Mifflin Township and spent his entire life in this district. He was a carpenter by trade, but the last few years of his life he was employed as janitor of the Franklin public school in Homestead. (from obituary published in the Duquesne Times) Jacob and Filamena (Philomena) Ackerman were married May 15, 1877 at St Agnes Church.
