Imperial Princess of Brazil and aunt of King Juan Carlos II of Spain. Esperanza de Borbón-Dos Sicilias y Orleans was born in 1914, daughter of Carlos de Borbón Dos Sicilias and Luisa de Orleáns.

She married in 1944 in Sevilla (Spain) with Pedro de Orleáns Braganza, pretender to imperial throne of Brazil till the constitutional referendum. Here lived the family of Pedro and Mercedes, in Grào Pará Palace, Petropolis.

Years later Esperanza and his ill husband went to live to Sevilla, Spain, a city where she was very popular and where she mantained a silent life with his children Pedro Carlos, María de la Gloria, Alfonso, Manuel, Cristina and Francisco.

She died in the night of monday agoust, 8, 2005, at 91 years, in her house of Villamanrique de la Condesa, Seville.
