Cary Abate passed away in Fresno on October 25, 2000. He was born on July 15, 1915, in New Jersey. In 1938, he met and married the love of his life, Laura Ann, in Los Angeles. Cary was a bartender, a film editor, a solider in WWII, a ruthless gin player, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He owned the Sweet Sixteen Restaurant in Santa Monica for over 25 years; He retired in 1976, to enjoy life at Millerton Lake with his wife of 63 years.
He is survived by his loving family, wife, Laura Ann; son, Cary Frank and his wife, Carol; grandchildren, Laurie, Susie and Tiffany; their husbands, Harry and Gerald; his great-grandchildren Justin, Kaitlyn and Joshua and his dog, Terry, who misses the warm space in bed.
