Gabriela Faith Boone, age 2 1/2 years old, left this earth and joined her oldest sister Leslie. Gabriela passed away in Findlay, Ohio, on Saturday, July 27, 2013. Gabriella fought a good fight all her life and proved many wrong along the way.

Born August 12, 2010, in Toledo, Ohio, to Jeremy J. and Nicole M. Boone (Holmes), Gabriella was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Findlay; she was also a proud member of the U of M Zipper Club. Gabriela was the Ambassador Child for the 2011 March of Dimes walk in Findlay.

Gabriela will be especially remembered for her big smile that could melt your heart and long eyelashes. Anyone who met Gabriela (Gabby as her sisters called her) could immediately see the bond she had with her older sisters. Both of her sisters knew her care and how to make Gabriela the happiest. The special bond between Gabriela and Lauryn was sweet and caring. Lauryn would often hold Gabby and read her books. The bond between Gabriela and Kynndal was playful and if a nurse or doctor changed the daily routine, you could always count on Kynndal to ask what and why this was taking place with her sister. She enjoyed spending time with her dogs, cats, and her sister's hamsters. Gabriela loved playing with her Furbys almost as much as she enjoyed cheering on her Pittsburgh Steelers.

Survivors include her parents: Jeremy and Nicole Boone of Findlay: sisters Lauryn Renette age 8 and Kynndal Anne age 6; great-grandmother, Mary Boone of Fostoria, Ohio; grandmother, Nan Boone of Arcadia, Ohio; J. William and Susan Hollington of Findlay, Ohio; uncle Daniel Boone of Arcadia, Ohio; aunt Dawn Boone of Arcadia, Ohio; uncle Chris (Aunt Sonn) Boone of Arcadia, Ohio; Andrew and Allison Boone of Lima Shawnee, Ohio; Brynn Boone of Findlay, Ohio; Jackson and Jillian Dole of Alexandria, Va.; godparents, Mark and Sonja Wallace of Springboro, Ohio and their children Markus, Isabella, Olivia, Kelsey, and Kylee. Gabriela was fortunate to have extended family in Tustin, Michigan, and Findlay, Ohio and special family friends: Landon, Niki, and Kaitlyn Sidle. During Gabriela's short life, she was cared for by nurses who became part of our family and were always a huge support for our entire family: Jenny, Cindy, Rachael, Brandy, John, you will never know how much you meant to Gabriela.

Gabriela was preceded in death by her oldest sister, Leslie Irene Boone; grandfathers: Horace "Bud" Boone Jr. and Sherman L. Holmes; great-grandparents: Mary Dillon, Lima Ellsworth "Slim" B. Dillon, Horace "Red" Boone Sr., Betty and Doyle Holmes, Lorenzo and Lena Marts, John and Mary Hollington and Anna Mae Zuern.

Thanks to Dr. Michael Pappas, the staff and doctors of the Toledo Children's Hospital and the dedicated medical team at Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich., for their help and support.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2013 at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home, Findlay. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Tiffin Ave., Findlay.
