Sonja Sue Dobbelare

Funeral Mass will be held Monday, October 24th, 2005 for 64-year-old Sonja Sue Dobbelare of Perryville, who died today (Friday, October 21st, 2005) at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was born August 10th, 1941 in Perry County, the daughter of Otto J. and Hazel A. (Huber) Schumer. They preceded her in death.

She married Floyd Dobbelare October 7th, 1961. He survives in Perryville.

Survivors include: a son and daughter in law, Floyd F. and Christy Dobbelare, Jr. of Perryville; three daughters and a son in law, Mary Sue Dobbelare and Barbara Jean Dobbelare, both of Perryville, and Karen Ann and Danny McAdams of Chester, IL; a sister and brother in law, Delores and Roy Hudson of Perryville; two brothers and sisters in law, John and Glenda Schumer of St. Mary, Jim and JoAnn Schumer of Columbia; six grandchildren, Rachal, Derek, Michele and Susie Dobbelare, Jessica and Jamie McAdams.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald.

She began her nursing career as a candy-striper during high school, later graduating from St. Mary's School of Nursing as an LPN. She retired from Perry County Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, and a member of the Red Hat Society.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Sunday, October 23rd, and from 6:30-9:50 a.m. Monday, October 24th at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. A Parish wake will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. The Rosary will be recited Monday at 9 a.m., also at the funeral home.

Funeral Mass for 64-year-old Sonja Sue Dobbelare of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 24th, 2005 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
