Cuthbert Harry Atkinson, son of William and
Leonora Hendrick Atkinson was born March
20, 1906, at Huntington, W. Va., and died
March 1, at Belleville, Kansas.
He attended high school in Erie, Pa., and attended Penn State University.
Earning his degree in agronomy, he became a
soil scientist, working for the Soil Conservation
Service.
September 24, 1934. he was united in
marriage to Edith Cicero at Indiana, Pa.
To this union three sons were born. He
and his family moved to Belleville in 1954.
He was a scientist for the Soil Conservation
service.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; his wife, Edith in 1979; his son,
James in 1987; two brothers and a sister.
He is survived by his sons, Tom of
Toronto, Canada, and Richard of Fort Collins.
Colo.; three grandchildren. Emily Beam,
Sean, and Eulane Atkinson.
Burial in the Belleville Cemetery.
