Marvin Lee Peters, 80, of El Cajon died on October 17th. He was born in Oklahoma and moved to El Cajon in 1941 where he was a surveyor with Dye Surveying until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union local 12D during his career. Marvin and his wife Ellena recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 21, 2003. They were married in Yuma, Ariz. in 1943. They built a house in El Cajon where they raised their children and continued to live in their entire married lives.

He is preceded in death by his beloved son Terry Peters, his daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Gary O'Gorman, brother William Peters and his parents Lester and Letha Peters. Survivors include his wife Ellena, daughter and son-in-law Marlena and Richard Jacobs and daughter-in-law Toni Peters. Marvin was known as "Popo" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a loving and supportive father and grandfather who was greatly loved more than anyone can imagine. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Doug DeNure, wife Jody, Dalena Raiano, husband John, Michelle Carmichael and husband Chris, Damon DeNure, Barry O ' Gorman and wife Tammie, Christa Molitor and husband Brian, Tarah Peters and Tawnya Peters. Ten great grandchildren Britney and Alex Santana, Jalena and Jacquelyn Raiano, Gary Lee O ' Gorman, Katie and Madison Carmichael, Nathan, Nicholas and Sandi Molitor. He is also survived by his two sisters Florene Donaho and Willie Dean Galloway and many nephews and nieces.

Viewing will be Oct 21 from 4-7pm at The El Cajon Mortuary, 684 Mollison Ave, El Cajon, Ca. Services will be Wed, Oct 22 at 11am at The El Cajon Mortuary followed immediately by Graveside Services at the El Cajon Cemetery. Pallbearers are his grandsons and grandsons-in-law; Barry O ' Gorman, Chris Carmichael, Brian Molitor, John Raiano, Doug DeNure and Damon DeNure. A reception will follow the Graveside Services at the home of Ellena Peters.
