1928 - 2013
Our loving mother and grandmother, Myrtle LaBelle Barry age 84, passed away March 12, 2013, in Peoria, Arizona, where she resided during the winter months. Born to Glen Mackey and Mabel Elizabeth Breinholt Boley, April 14, 1928, in American Fork, Utah, where she also spent her childhood. She married Hugh Wesley Barry in the Salt Lake Temple on Sept 16, 1947, and raised a family in Orem consisting of: John (Brenda Gerber), Jim (Marilyn Thomas), Jay (Susann Smith), and Jill (Scot Brady). LaBelle has 25 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren.
LaBelle's unshakable faith in the Savior, Jesus Christ and her optimism are part of the legacy we have received from her. Her angelic soprano voice, love of gardening, laughter and concern for others will live on in our memories. LaBelle had many great neighbors that lived close by in the two homes she lived in Orem. She enjoyed teaching kindergarten at Hillcrest Elementary for 23 years.
LaBelle was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sister, Carol Herbert; and brotherm Mackey Boley. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and brother, Kent Boley.
A viewing will be held Friday, March 22, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem. Funeral service will be held Saturday March 23, 2013 at 10:00 am at Orem Hillcrest Ward Chapel, 1050 South 800 East, Orem, with viewing from 8:30 - 9:45 am prior to service. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
