The Daughter of a Signer.
Mrs. Emily Hopkinson Scovel, widow of the late Alden C. Scovel, died yesterday of congestion of the brain at her residence, No. 327 Penn street, Camden. Mrs. Scovel was well-known in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and was a granddaughter of Francis Hopkinson, on of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, and daughter of the late Francis Hopkinson, a well known Philadelphia lawyer, who was at one time clerk of the United States District Court. The deceased lady was closely related to the Biddles of Philadelphia and is a sister-in-law of Rev. Dr. Foggo, rector of Christ Church, Philadelphia. Her only brother resides at Bordentown and she leaves three children to mourn her loss. The funeral will take place on Thursday next at St. Paul'ls Protestant Episcopal church.
