She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She attended St. Mary's High School, Hagerstown. She was the school librarian and part-time cafeteria worker for 20 years at St. Mary's. She also worked at Hagerstown Hosiery. She was a member of the East End Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, William H. Ruck Jr.; two daughters, Carolyn L. Barton and husband Dave of Hagerstown and Judy A. Carroll and husband Jerry of Hagerstown; daughter-in-law, Kimberly S. Ruck of Greencastle, Pa.; six sisters, Marie Baker of Maugansville, Md., Ellie Sirbaugh of Hagerstown, Rosie Thompson of Hagerstown, Bernie Grandstaff of Hagerstown, Dottie (Wiley) Cooper of Hagerstown and Delores Wyand of Falling Waters, W.Va.; two brothers, James Beaver of Hagerstown and David Beaver of Maugansville; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by son, William R. Ruck; sister, Regina Beaver; brother, George Beaver Jr.; and grandson, William D. Carroll.
Services will be held Thursday, May 31, 2007, at 11 a.m. from the St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Father James Nirappel officiating. Family will receive friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 30. nterment will follow at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
