Add PhotosIn 1938, during the celebration of the 950th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus', the decision was made at the behest of Archbishop Vitaly (Maximenko) to mark this jubilee by erecting the majestic St. Vladimir Memorial Church in the town of Cassville, soon after renamed Jackson, at ROVA Farms (ROVA: Russian Mutual Aid Society), where many Russian people typically congregate in the summer months.
(ROVA Organization has ceased to exist due to financial and management problems. In 2021, the County-City purchased the land, and the Church is separate. In 2022 the buildings were razed at the time of this recording. The Land around the church is being converted into a county park.
There is a small cemetery which has several clergymen interred. There is a small park across from the church with monuments including WW1 and WW2 monuments, with servicemen who would be interred further down the road at Saint Vladimir's Russian Orthodox Cemetery [#1512340].
