Hauho Cemetery is situated in Härkälä area, 2.8 km from Hauho Church. It was founded in 1851 and consists of 5.2 hectares of land. In the cemetery there are departments for casket and urn burials and a memorial grove.
Near the entrance of the funeral chapel there is a remembrance memorial for those, who were buried elsewhere.
The funeral chapel built in 1955 is designed by Mauno Kaipainen.
In the corner of the cemetery, nearest to the Hauho Road, is an old small red painted building, which was used as a morgue in the old times.
Hauho Church, built in the beginning of 1500's (about 1520), is dedicated to Saint John. It's made from grey granite like many of the Finnish medieval stone churches. The pulpit is from 1660's. Hauho is a former municipality of Finland, it was consolidated with Hämeenlinna on Jan. 1, 2009.
In the old days the deceased were buried under the church floor and later in the churchyard. Eventually since 1851 the burials were performed at the new cemetery in Härkälä area, 2,5 km from Hauho Church.
The fallen war heroes from Hauho are buried in Hauho Churchyard.
